What really gets me is that almost everyone I know says Holden Caulfield is whiny and immature and obnoxiously hypocritical and they just can’t stand him or the stupid book, while every night, before I go to bed, I read another couple chapters of Catcher out loud just to myself and silently wish the ghost of Salinger would suddenly appear in my room so we could bro-hug it out in the dark for a while
